Miss Texas!
That's right. The 77th annul Miss Texas scholarship competition will be held in none other than our own Allen Convention Center this July at 7pm. It is hard to believe that this small town that was buried in the shadows of its prestigious neighbors like Plano and Frisco has grown to outshine them."We at the Miss Texas Organization are excited that the City of Allen will host our competitions and look forward to this new partnership with a most welcoming community," said John Dodd, Miss Texas Organization chairman of the board. "Hosting this pageant in Allen gives us the opportunity to continue to showcase why Allen, TX is a great destination," said Stephen Terrell, Mayor of Allen.
Miss Texas isn't the only star to shine in Allen's skies, the iconic early 80's rock duo Darryl Hall & John Oats will perform later this summer. The Allen blues festival as well as a past visit from the Oakridge boys has kept the buzz going around the convention center so far this year.
Allen just might be the where the stars shine the brightest over North Dallas.
